Fondi

Fondi is located halfway between Rome and Naples, on the Via Appia. The town lies on a plain at the foot of the mountains and Aurunci Ausoni. The city of Fondi also has a coastline of 13 km and a lake that takes its name from the city, precisely the Lake Fondi. The city of Fondi is defined by its ultimate symbol, the majestic baronial castle of the fourteenth century, built by Onorato I Caetani on pre-existing Roman walls.

The castle now houses the Museo Civico.
